Kinda depends on where you live and where you sell it. Not worth much in D.C.,
but prob worth more in Richmond Va, SC, or Georgia. GLWYS

  3. It's not really worth anything. Those '70s all-in-ones with crappy BSR turntables are super common. I just gave away a similar Panasonic unit, was glad to get it hauled away.

    Hello.
    Could you re-phrase using ponctuation.

I do not get quite the message other than value.

As for the latter, sentimental value is all I can think of as I look at your pictures.

I hope you got it fairly ( very ) cheap.
If I was looking for that kind of a receiver, well, in a mint condition, all working properly, with original speakers

let's say, 20$ would be as high as I could go.

To someone who had one, their parents had one, their grandparents had one, for sentimental reasons it might be worth a little money.
Otherwise, as mentioned it's not really worth much.

Joining just so we can help you flip something is a novel approach, wonder why more people don't do it.

  6. Hmm i see I guess that's relative to one's idea of a little money I thought I had found it on eBay a recent auction sell for $150 that would blow me out of the water but it wouldn't show me the pictures and the detail was too vague I spent $10 on it I'd be happy to get $25 I don't know

Don't forget that some completed auction prices are contrived to set up later actual sales. "Look at the price for these two completed sales! BIN mine, now, and save!"

Not every completed eBay auction results in a completed transaction, where goods and money change hands.

FWIW, I think the second-hand store priced it fairly. There wasn't much more to be had from that piece.

    Sorry.

As Heather stated location can add or detract a lot from the value. Where I am at something like this in working order would likely sell for between $25.00 at a yard sale to perhaps $100.00 in a retail venue. To audiophiles they have no value but there are a surprising number of people that are looking for just this type of item something that does it all. Most newer receivers do not have a phono input and many people just want something to play there old records on this fits the bill. I would put an ad on CL for $50.00 OBO and I bet it sells for $40.00 in less then a day.

I know it may come as a shock to most of us but there are far more people interested in just listening to music casually then there are audiophiles :D

For that kind of price, $50-100, I would expect speakers with it. Maybe it came with, but the OP didn't mention that.

Yes, there would be a market for this, from the general population, and it might do better in Alaska than in a major centre in the continental US. If the OP is in a somewhat remote area, then he could, indeed, do better than the price he paid. Supply and demand.

  10. I'm thinking the prices quoted here are a bit optimistic.

Not where I am at, I cant speak for other locations but from past experience I have seen these sell for $100.00 plus on a regular basis and quickly no one was more amazed then I was :)

  12. You might catch lightning from someone trying to outfit a shaggy rug with bean bag living room but don't hold your breath waiting for a pot 'o gold.

BTW, first post asking for valuation is using without contributing.

  13. Hmm... That's a lot of buttons..

  14. I have to agree with snow. Especially if everything is working. Nostalgia, a simple all in one with some cheap speakers is all many people who just want to play a few records at the cottage on a rainy day. Remember that there are quite a few people who would like a record player, but don't want to pay more than $100 all in. $50 is the perfect price point, but to tell you the truth, from my perspective, it is hardly worth the effort.

Just to qualify, I also pick up items that I sell on kijiji, and they are items I pay max $10 for and sell them for $40 or $50. If I added up all of them and compared them to my audio acquisitions and how much I made on them, I am way ahead with the $40 to $50 items. I use it for spending money between pay cheques.

    Snow and Bdbras84 like this.
  15. My son found a similar one by the side of the road. He used it in his dorm room at college, hooked up with a cable to his computer. It worked pretty well for that use. It also had the highly coveted cassette to 8-track converter.
  16. Your Sears stereo has the same idea as the one I have in this thread:
    http://audiokarma.org/forums/index....k-cassette-clock-system-and-turntable.773462/

Hmmm your stereo has a lot of buttons!

    Good luck!

  17. The only real value that thing has is nostalgic. All in ones, for the most part, aren't that good, and units from Sears probably weren't at the top of the heap. If it's cleaned up and everything is working, then you hope you can find the guy that had that same unit as a teen.

Does everything work? The turntable, the 8 track?

If everything works, and you can find that one guy, then you could fetch $100 or more. Otherwise, I think you'd be lucky at $50 - $100. In terms of actual 'value', I don't think it's worth that much.

  18. Considering the quality of the plastic mass market USB turntables being sold these days, some with built in 3" speakers (ughh), if this thing actually works it's not too bad in comparison.

Good chance the stylus is worn out though. They can be replaced inexpensively from online vendors.

  19. There's a Realistic all in one that's been sitting at $25 on the San Diego CL for a few weeks now. This place is just about hipster heaven and no one seems interested.

With those I'd say take what you can get and be happy. I would only buy one if I knew someone was looking for something "vintage" to hook to their iPhone and park next to a small stack of records that would never get played.

  20. That brings up a good point. Does it even have an AUX input? With one, worth about what you paid. Without one, really practically worthless.
